| So I installed my new Southbend DXD kevlar clutch last night (rated for 700 ft lbs torque) and my mechanic/installer companion Ssaid it was the crappiest friction plate he's ever seen (looks like a reversed 8 puck) but there's hardly any friction material on the plate, just seems hard to believe that it'll hold back 700 ft lbs and last 4 times longer than a standard clutch (as advertised). So am I just being paranoid? Because honestly I probably would have returned/exchanged the friction plate if my DD didn't just blow a head gasket and I didn't need to DD the Z now. However I have put about 20 miles on the new clutch (soft break-in mileage) and am very pleased with how smooth it is, I'm just concerned with the longevity of it.
